It is the traditionalsystem of medicine in india but due to globalization, its area of service is increasing day-to-day. Many countries like Germany, Russia, America, Sri Lanka, Thailand have recognized its beneficial effects on living standards & have accepted it as one of the most effective systems of treatment. Ancient Acharyas of this system such as Acharya Charak & Sushruta have underlined the importance of one of the most significant mottos- Prevention is better then cure- too early by advocating the aim of this system as " Prayojanam Chasya Swasthasya Swasthaya Rakshanam Aaturasya Vikara Prasmanam Cha"(Cha.Su.30/26.)

Mechanization of life in the era, has given rise to a number of the diseases for which only medicinal treatment is insufficient. for proper treatment of such diseases, the mass of people is looking towards the Ayurvedic system of medicine which has medicinal as well as holistic apporaches of treatments that include Sadvrittacharya, Yoga, Panchkarama therapy etc. Thus the importance of Ayurveda in present scenario has undoubtly increased where conventional medicine, with its might & main, finds itselfs unable to fight many diseases. The patient, not able to put up with the side effects of conventional antibiotics, is turning to gentle, harmless therapy of Ayurveda & other traditional systems.
